Chris Banning

Engineer
Professional Bio:

Chris started out around age 11 taking apart home phones and radios to see how they work. Mom was always impressed with my ability to get them working again regardless of the leftover parts. I started upgrading and building my own PC’s in the mid 90’s, and soon graduated to helping family and friends with theirs. After much encouragement, I decided to pursue an IT career in 2000 and haven’t looked back. My music and engineering background was actually helpful in that a lot of my early consulting experience was assisting musicians and recording studios transition from the analog to the digital realm of recording- setting up and configuring digital audio workstations (DAW’s), troubleshooting recording hardware and software, etc. I’ve been told I’m certifiable and here’s the proof: I hold several IT certifications including A+, Network+, CCENT, CCNA, and MCP. I’m also currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology.

Personal Bio:
Chris was born and raised in Wilmington, DE. I studied martial arts starting at age 6 and got my black belt when I was 12. I started playing the drums at age 11 and played in All-State Band and Orchestra all the way through junior high and high school.  I majored in music in college and pursued music as a career, including while living in NYC for 4 years. I still play professionally and have my own recording studio. I’ve always loved to cook. My first job at age 16 was working as a cook at Katie’s restaurant in downtown Wilmington (the one Joe Biden mentioned during his VP debate). I even used to fly solo on Tuesday nights!

Nowadays, Chris enjoys playing disc golf, tennis, basketball, playing music, cooking, and most of all, spending time with my son, whom so far is a better cook and basketball player than he was at his age!
