Joe Spampinato

Engineer

Professional Bio:

Began his career as a software engineer on Sun Unix in Aerospace in 1991, entered University of Pennsylvania Graduate School part-time soon after. The various defense industry mergers of the 90s left him at CSC, so he jumped ship to work at Commodore Computer in 1994, just in time to finish his graduate degree, and for Commodore to go under. From there spent four years helping build Computer Animation software in Toronto, Canada, before realizing he could transfer to their office in Santa Barbara, CA. A year later, he jumped ship to work for DreamWorks Animation in Silicon Valley as a coder. Three years after that, left to spend a year and a half building software in New Zealand before moving back to the Delaware Valley and finding Dorset Connects.

Personal Bio:

Has lived in three different countries whose primary language is English. Had the lead in the Valley Forge Elementary School 1980 stage production of Bye Bye Birdie. Was Commodore Computer’s last new employee. Has a monkey butler. Credited in two historic Oscar-winning films and a single unremarkable nothing-winning one. Has worked as a Carpenter’s Assistant, Kickboxing Instructor, and a Rocket Scientist. Wrote, produced, and directed an independent film starring BBC and New Zealand television and stage actors that has never been seen at any film festivals. Has driven across the United States four times (once without eating).

Joe maintains that only one of these statements is untrue.
